Spring Fever

I had a serious case of spring fever yesterday so I talked Momma into taking me on an adventure.  I didn't care where we went as long as we could get out of the house.  So Momma loaded me into my car seat - the one I hate - and soon we were off to Stubby's magical forest preserve.

There were so many flowers, people, and dogs that I was on senses overload!  Even though I couldn't really see the flowers, I sure could smell them.  And with Momma describing them to me in great detail, I painted a picture in my head of each and every one of them.



Momma decided to take me here because she thought it would be less muddy than other places.  I didn't care why we were there because I was having a great time.   I stopped to check for pee mail on this plant and Momma told me that it was bamboo.  I don't know what that means but there wasn't any mail there.

I loved these little plants because they looked like they were going to shoot open at any second.  I was very careful not to pee on them so I wouldn't stunt their growth.

As usual, I had a hard time staying on the trail.  I was helping out the decomposers by walking through all the leaf litter.  Momma told me they didn't need my help but I told her that everyone needs a little Tiffy help now and then.

We hadn't been on the trail very long when we took a turn and had to stop.  The trail was flooded and even though some people walked off trail to avoid walking through the water, Momma said there was no way she was going to let me get all muddy.  Momma is just no fun! 

We went over the river and then turned around and headed back the way we came.  Momma knows all the trails and she was convinced she could find one that wasn't flooded.  I let her do the leading because I was checking out more flowers.  I don't know the name of this flower but it was everywhere.  The flowers looked like little stars and the leaves were speckled in purple.  Momma's pictures don't do the flowers justice but trust me, they were beautiful.

I was very careful not to step on the star flowers.  They smelled so pretty that every one I passed I had to say hi to.

This little flower was so close to blooming that I thought if I stood still for a while it would bloom right before my eyes.  Momma told me that the flower wouldn't open for at least one more day so I said goodbye and continued down the trail.

These flowers looked like a perfect bouquet for Momma put I didn't pick them.   In fact, I didn't pick any flowers and neither did Momma.  All the flowers in the forest belong there, not at home with us, so we admired their beauty on this lovely spring day.

There was lots of moss due to all the recent rains.  Momma told me that Tweedle's forest is filled with moss and that it covers every surface in some spots. 

Momma and her shelf mushrooms!  I swear she spends just a much time looking for them as she does looking for snakes. 

You can't really see the leaves just starting to bud on the tops of the trees unless you biggify the picture.  The trail was really pretty, what I could see of it.  It was also very peaceful.  There were several times where it felt like we were all alone in the forest.

I asked Momma if someone lived in this tree hole and she said maybe.  She didn't want to poke around in it because something might be asleep inside so she looked from a distance while I sniffed up close.

I was so tired after my adventure that I actually feel asleep in the car seat that I hate.  I just couldn't keep my head up any longer and the car seat was so comfy.  I still hate it and I still want Momma to take it back but she's having second thoughts.  She wants me to thank all of you who left comments about it and other car seats.  She had me buckled in so tight that I couldn't even turn around.  That was good for Momma but not for me.
