Expanding My Horizons

I've been reading everyone's blogs for the past two weeks and I've come to the conclusion that I need to get out more.  Expand my horizons.  See the world.

 Every day I sit in front of the gate and wonder what's on the other side.  Momma always says it's a big world out there yet I can't get out and explore without her.  Now don't get me wrong I love it here.  Momma and Daddy are the best parents ever but I need friends, activities, and things to do.

My backyard is big and there's lots to explore but it's just not enough.  These daffodils spoke to me today and told me that even though they are blooming now their blooms will soon be gone.  The daffodil season is very short so they bloom while they can.  This made me realize that I want to bloom.

I raced back into the house to tell Momma about my blooming.  She was surprised to see me come through the door because it's hard to get me inside.  I love the outdoors and on a nice, sunny day like today I see no reason to be cooped up in the house.

At first Momma didn't want to listen to me so I turned my back on her.  That will show her, I thought.   It didn't work.  She went about her business and let me sulk on my own.

I decided a more direct approach was in order so I jumped up on her knees.  Now that I had her attention I told her what I wanted and needed to bloom.  She told me that I was looking in the wrong places and that what I needed was right in front of my eyes.  What?  Where?  I've been looking as best I can with my limited vision but I haven't found anything.  And then it hit me like a ton of bricks. 

I could join the Sunflower Club!   I've seen the badges on the all cool girls blogs and I really want to be part of the Club.  I want to hang out with the girls, go shopping, and do all the cool stuff that Sunflower girls do.   I wonder what I need to do to join.  Does anyone know?
